This bracelet is made of a combination of tree and synthetic resins. The artisans that work on it polish the resins, carve them and infuse them with pigment in order to make the different beads look like wood. The result is a realistic, light weight and comfortable material that also looks elegant. Every strand has an elastic band which makes it easy to put on your wrist.
Handmade in the eastern mountainous region of India, this bracelet is made by women artisans who have escaped child marriage. The women, who are very young in some cases, use the cooperative’s safe house to live there and train in different skills before venturing back out into the world.
